I love what I do in IT, but the global economy is making it much harder.  My company decided to use people in Bangalore because they cost about 20% as much as us.  So 12 of us lost our jobs in one day, then were hired back as temps to retrain our replacements.

I’m not proud.  I did it to keep some income flowing in.  With bills to pay and kids to feed, did I have a choice?

But unemployment only covered a portion of my bills. I worked consulting jobs here and there, but still fell behind in payments. The writing was on the wall: retrain.  But because my bills got ahead of the inflow, I got bad credit.  And with bad credit, where would the money for retraining come from?  Bangalore??

In the final analysis, my need for fast cash translated into a car title loan. Once I got used to the idea, I filled out an online application with Car Title Loans in Chattanooga. It was nothing like going to a car title loans store in some unfamiliar neighborhood. By the next day the money was transmitted electronically into my checking account.  

With credit tight everywhere it’s a reasonable option.  Auto title loans are really just another way to leverage value.
